I am a journalist and a professional photographer and i have to give it to you for writing so well about so many diverse issues.
sanjayausta@gmail.comsanjay austahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03373265832186572221noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765900.post-89148996060248401602007-08-04T13:10:00.000+05:302007-08-04T13:10:00.000+05:30We all know that media is too powerful today. But, today's senario in India is very quite concerning.Media it doing all that what it should not. We can see that media has remained no more than a business. They, what entertains people and not reality. They show that "How Amitabh went to temple", "How Mica kissed Rakhi" but they do not show that a "Hisbul Mujahidin's most wanted terrorist 'Sohel Faisal' killed in Anantnag, India. Indian Major leading the operation lost his life in the process. Four others are injured." This is a third priority thing for news chanels. If have seen how indian news channels are spreading "Superstions" of ghosts and "Jadoo tona" in some of it's night serial without going to ground realities. secondly the crime programmes shown r really giving bad impact on the youths .Much more to tell but I think, you know it better..
What this is going on is very frustrating ! It's bullshit.

There is no control of any one on these channels. There must be some contol on what is going on.

Sameer ThakurAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765900.post-15852643107659234572007-07-31T13:48:00.000+05:302007-07-31T13:48:00.000+05:30I can confirm that the reach of television is (alm...I can confirm that the reach of television is (almost) non-existent in the remoter parts of Chhattisgarh. The reach of newspapers is almost non-existent in those areas too, but politicians - sometimes even high profile ones - do make occasional visits!Clivehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04567380633301501834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765900.post-6173966024984041842007-07-31T02:46:00.000+05:302007-07-31T02:46:00.000+05:30@Akash1. You must remember that my father was the Congress spokesperson for atleast three years, during which time it was only natural to develop relations with people in the media. So while it is true that some people known to me were involved with Akash Channel, the same can be said of many other media organizations, both at the state and the national level.
2. For the record, Akash Channel was not owned by me: both the current state government and the CBI have investigated the issue of its ownership, and found nothing to establish that I or any other member of my family had ownership of the said channel. In the absence of any corroborative evidence to support this allegation, I can only say that it constitutes a very serious and actionable libel.
3. As regards the comparison between NNS and Akash, your assessment is at best skewed, and no doubt fed by media-generated stereotypes that you have so vociferously criticized above: the Congress did surprisingly well in
the central plains of Chhattisgarh, winning 37 of the 56 seats; it was ousted from power primarily because it failed to win seats in the tribal/naxalite-infested constituencies in the north (Sarguja) as well as the south (Bastar). Needless to say, the reach of television- let alone cable television- in these latter constituencies is non-existent.
4. As regards my 'right' to speak about issues, I would be thankful if that decision were left to me.

I hope this clarifies things.

Best wishes,
AJAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10387056700230747873noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765900.post-31158734789184126892007-07-30T22:46:00.000+05:302007-07-30T22:46:00.000+05:30@Media:With great freedom comes greater responsibi...@Media:
With great freedom comes greater responsibility. But media in this country seems to overlook this idea. They have become the tools to a mass wealth and power and it will continue to devoid the society of good governance.

The media barons act in the most irresponsible and unprofessional ways. The same newspaper that curses a rapist on the first page, prints offensive pictures and semi-nude models on the third. They generate their own content, create their own stereotypes and always intervene in state matters to gain more power and control.

@NSS:
Its fate of Indian public's fate to see such things and it is done by each and every govt to some extent. Even your father’s govt was not exception they had entire Akash channel (correct me if I am wrong) to do the same. So you don't have any rights to comment on that and don’t forget what happened to NDA at centre was similar to what happened to congress in chhattisgarh.

Whatever hype was made by the media (specially Akash Channel) here people voted against Ajit Jogi( and not congress !! ) and showed him the way out.The Gypsyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02728899831510091377noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-28765900.post-74048240300179998652007-07-30T18:43:00.000+05:302007-07-30T18:43:00.000+05:30I must say that this blogger has successfully snat...I must say that this blogger has successfully snatched the words from my mouth for I was on the verge of pinning down ABCs on the third holy cow-media in my blog. After this entry, I dare stop my fingers for I see everything that I wanted to write.
Daringly, he points out the anomalies that we all live in being presented in the idiot box. On the record, its a pity that 'humains' of twenty-first century base their informative dictionary on media. The media wins over our mind by a mere fact cited by an evil genius more than half a century ago-its good that people do not think.
The mainframe of our think tank survives on the programs displayed by them, majority of which are based upon ghost stories or the fugitive Don.
Knowing the blogger personally makes sure inside me that he is not going to hold his tongue from uttering the truth hidden behind the velvet curtains of media giants.
& I can see here "End of part one", there is more to come which I at least I look forward to.
One of the best blog entries in recent time. Kudos.
PS:- There are no two India's' but one India for every news network.
Keep writing.Amit Tiwari अमित तिवारीhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17890979797084392793noreply@blogger.com
